Reviewers
All research articles published in this journal will undergo rigorous single-blind peer review, based on initial selection by the editor, evaluation by independent expert reviewers, and subsequent review by the authors of the article when necessary. Reviewers will use the online reviewer form for their report.
The editor will assign the article to one or more experts who will review the article and give their opinion: publishable/accepted, publishable/accepted with minor modifications, publishable/accepted with major modifications or not publishable/not accepted. The reviewer must argue his/her recommendation, suggesting improvements or making appropriate comments. When advisable, an additional review may be requested.
The average time taken by the reviewers of Anales del Instituto de Actuarios Españoles is 30 to 40 days.
The editor will send the author the review reports received, as well as the recommendations (if any) for modification of the article or, failing that, the decision to reject the manuscript together with the review reports.
In each case, the author will have up to 20 days to submit the corrected manuscript to the editor together with a justification of the changes made.
Once the evaluation process has been completed, the editors of the journal will decide whether or not to publish the article and will notify the main author of its acceptance or rejection.
The reviewers are professors, researchers and/or professionals who have accredited knowledge in the field of the actuarial profession.
Reviewers collaborate voluntarily with the Journal and do so in accordance with the Journal's editorial policy and its Code of Ethics. Manuscripts received for review must not be shown to or discussed with others, unless expressly authorised by the Editor of the Journal.
The list of reviewers for the one-year period is published after the year. Reviewers receive an annual certificate of participation as reviewers of the journal, irrespective of the number of articles they have reviewed per year.
